Dan Brooks & Kelsey Mai
Sharon Springs, Kansas
Dan Brooks & Kelsey Mai are soil farmers. They are reviving more than roots in their small town of Sharon Springs in northwest Kansas. They believe that the tastiest vegetables come from the healthiest, most nutrient-dense soil possible and their farming techniques are designed to maximize both.
To keep the most robust soil environment possible, Dan & Kelsey grow on less than 1 acre and do minimal tillage. They supplement the soil with just the right amount of trace minerals, compost, compost teas and love. No chemicals.
This past year, they added a greenhouse to their farm so that they could offer co-op members fresh and healthy greens all year round.
Thanks Dan and Kelsey!
