Order number of bags. 2 1/2# bag. Ground fresh when ordered. Pronounced “trit-i-KAY-lee”. Klie Organics Triticale flour has a stronger nuttier flavor than wheat. Triticale is a healthy grain with a high protein content and a better amino acid balance than either of the parent grains (Wheat /Rye). It's Lysine content is higher than wheat therefore it stores well for long periods of time. Because of it's weaker gluten content, when making leavened breads, you should use at least 50% wheat flour to ensure a good rise. But Triticale Flour can be used to make pancakes and cookies without the addition of wheat. Flour is packaged in a Zip Lock bag inside a Hand Made cloth bag. |
