Freshly ground whole wheat baking mixes. I enjoy putting together more of a diverse selection you wouldn't find in local stores. About Us Since my husband and I have been married and raised our four children we have incorporated whole grains into our diet. Many times 100% whole wheat baked goods are so heavy and have that "health-food" taste. My mixes have been tried and used over the years because they include FRESHLY ground wheat flour and taste great. Often times the recipes also include unbleached flour to add lightness and processed sugar.(ORGANIC SUGAR IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN MOST RECIPES) A few of the mixes are made with honey. We love the flavor of these whole wheat products. Freshly ground wheat flour has its own sweet flavor that you don't find in the store bought version. I'm continuing to research and try new recipes and products. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) The wheat flour in my recipes has been ground a few hours before the mixes are assembled. We are wheat producers, BUT the wheat I grind is purchased locally because it is triple cleaned and screened. I find this process hard to do at home. The dry mixes are put together in my home kitchen. Additional Information Since I use freshly ground wheat flour, it can spoil. The germ in the middle of the seed can turn rancid if you don't keep it in your refrigerator or freezer. Over the years, I have found it easiest to keep my wheat flour in the freezer so it's ready for use. The mixes would taste best if stored in the freezer or fridge and used within 1 month. |
