Premium quality beef and chicken. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Schmidt's premium meats provide country fresh, home grown, hand fed, locally processed, USDA federally inspected, all natural beef and chicken. All our beef is selected from our own cattle herd emphasizing consistent, top quality, tender, flavorful beef. Our beef is produced without using growth promoting implants, without antibiotics, either fed or injected, and they are never fed animal byproducts. Our cattle are never held in strict confinement. Ample time is allowed for development on native grass and forage. At apporximately a year of age they continue on full feed of roughage and have access to corn, oats and distillers dried grain. During the processing stage, the beef is dry aged for 14 days. This process enhances the abundance of flavor and tenderness. Our chicken is produced the same way Grandma raised chickens 50 years ago. Our chickens are never fed medicated feed and when finished brooding they spend every day outdoors soaking up sunshine and breathing fresh air. We are sure you will be able to tell a difference as a result of raising chickens the old fashioned way. We are registered with the Kansas State Department of Agriculture having met the requirements of the Kansas Meat and Poultry Inspection Act. We are fourth generation farmers and ranchers who raise crops and cattle in the beautiful Sappa Valley. We have been marketing beef directly to customers for more than 30 years. During this period, we have developed animals that produce a consistent, mouth-watering, flavorful, product. We have added chicken to our product list. The same uncompromising standards of excellence in quality is practiced with our chicken production.
