Grass fed, high quality, all natural, aged Angus beef. About Us The Double Beaver Hay and Cattle Co. is nestled between two of the Beaver Creeks. As we have gotten older, we've sized back to a 'Mom and Pop' operation; believing bigger is not always better. Quality, not quantity is our bottom line. We are all natural producers. The all natural beef we produce is what we, our seven children, seventeen grandchildren and YOU should eat, is our belief. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Our beef has NO added hormones; it is all natural. Our roasts come from the cuts that would ordinarily be steaks. Our hamburger contains all other cuts of the cow, not just the scraps; therefore, it is a step above even ground round. Our beef has been determined to be 85-90% lean. It is very, very lean and flavorful; because of the way we choose to process it. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Our beef is processed at an extremely clean, locally owned, family operated and Federally (USDA)inspected processing plant, whom we have complete faith in. We adhere to all natural practices. We use a thorough vaccination at birth and shortly thereafter, which allows us to stay away from antibiotics. With these practices (preventive vaccinations), it greatly enhances our total herd health. All heifers introduced into the herd are calfhood vaccinated, and blood tested prior to becoming part of our ranch. We feed or implant NO hormones. If any animal, for whatever reason (injury, sickness), receives any antibiotics it is taken to the sale barn for commercial feedlot use only. All animals are fed complete free choice mineral and hay or grass produced here on the ranch. In alfalfa hay production, it is essential to fertilize with phospherous, which is a mined product. We use no commercial nitrogen in the production of our hay, relying primarily in crop rotation instead. We do use some manure to feed the microbes in the soil, keeping it healthy and thereby helping increase production. We do not irrigate, as our hay ground is subirrigated as a result of our location, laying in and around the two Beaver Creeks. We control erosion by basic crop rotation of alfalfa, which holds top soil quite well. Additional Information We produce primarily black Angus home raised grass/alfalfa finished beef.
