All natural, grain finished buffalo meat, USDA inspected, frozen, white paper wrap, 1/4\'s or bundels About Us We began our buffalo business in 1999 with 26 head. We were able to expand to over 1,000 head when we leased the old Denver Buffalo Ranch in 2002. This ranch is 12,000 acres in central Elbert County. The ranch is all native pasture which is home to the majority of our herd. We were born and raised in eastern El Paso County to ranching families. We are proud to call the plains of Colorado our home. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We have 200 mother cows, run on 12,000 acre ranch. Calves are weaned in November, turned back to grass and run until yearlings. Gathered and finished in large pens on whole corn, sunflower pellets and free choice hay. Processed at 1,000 to 1,100 lbs, usually 20 to 30 months of age. Additional Information Buffalo are raised in their native and natural habitat located on the high plains of Eastern Colorado. The meat is naturally low in fat, calories and cholesteral and high in iron. It is a highly nutrient dense food because of the proportion of protein, fat, minerals and fatty acids to its caloric value. The meat has a rich flavor without being gamey. |
